Shear capacity prediction of stiffened steel plate shear walls (SSPSW) with openings using response surface method

In this study, nonlinear finite element (NLFE) analysis is conducted to determine the maximum shear capacity (Vmax) of stiffened steel plate walls (SSPSW) with rectangular openings. Results a wide range parametric study are presented using developed response surface method (RSM), which quantified effect prominent input variables on predicted SSPSW. The studied parameters, evaluated by different aspect ratios infill (L/h), thickness (t), yield stress used in (Fy), and ratio opening area total (Ao/Ap). RSM utilized propose equations predict SSPSW ratios, can assist optimum designing show that, an accurate specimens. Furthermore, having characteristics specimens, size openings be calculated achieve target Vmax. Evaluating results also indicated that has linear relationship variations thickness. Besides, increasing plate, Vmax strongly influenced ratio.
